2 Hallways (Natural Permanence)
made in procreate, 16'' by 20''
This is a view of what the interior to the Visual Arts building looks like. The left side is a hallway in the east wing of the building. I enjoy how the plants can be seen through the windows to the courtyards. The right image is of the art history office entrance, which looked a lot different from when the building was originally created. There were no doors, only a large space for modernist decorations. Concrete walls make up a majority of the material used for the overall structure. Our artwork stand out from spaces that are designed to include a consistent theme like the grey color palette.
Untitled (Warhol Soup Cans in Front of the Visual Arts Building)
made in procreate, 16'' by 20''
Warhol visited Colorado State Universities Campus in 1981. I learned about this is art history class and found this article about his visit to Fort Collins. There were three soup cans made by a student, with advice from Warhol, who signed them. There is a stark contrast between the past and our present. The stadium is relatively new and was not seen in older pictures of the building. I had fun recreating the logos on the cans themselves. My favorite part is the gold reflection.
