This illustration is based on a conversation I had with a 4th grader and a 5th grader at a local Elementary School. We discussed how marginalized communities in third world countries need access to healthcare and food. After researching universal human rights, I decided to focus on drawing how children should have food, a protective household, and items that resonate with their personal identity in order to develop their sense of self. Symbols in the final poster are centered around the kid's interest in sports. Our goal is to encourage countries that are not in the United Nations to follow the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
